On Monday, July 30th, I attended the Diggers and Dealers conference here in Kalgoorlie, Western Australia.  I was incredibly impressed with the technology, solutions and innovations that our State’s great miners displayed during the conference.

Mining has and continues to be an essential source of jobs and economic growth for our State, and I revel in any opportunity to talk to the innovators, thinkers, workers and investors that keep this vital industry going.

Given my mining and minerals processing background, I had high expectations for the conference, yet I was still blown away by what I saw.  Our State is a hub of innovation and creativity in the field of mining and resource extraction. With businesses like these in our backyard, Western Australians have a prosperous future ahead of us.

From the beginning, I have been a friend of the mining industry and our regional towns.  I especially love our brave miners, hardworking Australians who often spend extended periods away from their families and loved ones to extract the resources we need to build our products and light our homes.  I will continue to advocate on their behalf for a business and worker-friendly environment in our State.
